Refund Policy
Last updated 17 August 2026
If WritePath isn't right for your child, ask us within 30 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full. You don't need to give a reason.
When the 30 days start
From the date of your first payment for the membership. The free first week costs nothing, so it isn't counted and there is nothing to refund for it. If you start the free week and never subscribe, no payment is ever taken.
What we refund
The full amount you have paid for that membership at the time you ask — on a monthly plan, the payment you have made; on a yearly plan, the full year. We refund to the original payment method. We don't deduct a fee, and we don't pro-rate for the days your child used the program.
How to ask
Refunds are requested from your account, and only from there. Sign in and open My Account. Find the membership, cancel it with Cancel membership, then use the Request refund button that appears beside it. You will be asked to confirm once. That is the whole process — there is no form to fill in and no reason to give.
We ask you to cancel first because a refund closes the membership. Cancelling is the first half of the same decision, and it means nothing is left running that you have asked us to refund.
This is the only way to request a refund under the 30-day promise. The button records your request, timestamps it, and holds the membership the moment you confirm. An email can't do any of that, so a refund asked for by email, phone or message won't start the process. If you are having trouble signing in, contact us and we will help you get back into your account — then the button is there waiting.
While your request is with us
Once a refund has been requested, the membership is held so it can't be restarted while the request is open — the Reactivate membership button is withdrawn until we have finished. Your child keeps access in the meantime, and it closes when the refund is processed.
If we can't approve a request — because it falls outside the 30 days, or the promise has already been used once — we will email you and explain why. The membership then goes back to normal, and you can reactivate it if you would like to carry on.
When you'll have it
We process refunds within two business days of your request. Your bank or card issuer usually takes a further five to ten business days to show it.
What happens to the membership
- Access ends when the refund is processed, and your child's sign-in closes.
- Feedback already emailed to you stays in your inbox — we don't remove it.
- Your child's work and account data are handled under our Privacy Policy, and we'll delete them on request.
One refund per family
The 30-day promise is available once. If you have previously received a refund from us — on this account, or on another account for the same child or household — you are not eligible for a second one. You are welcome to subscribe again at any time; the 30-day promise simply doesn't apply a second time.
We may decline a request where an account appears to have been created to obtain repeat refunds.
After the 30 days
You can cancel whenever you like from My Account. Cancelling stops the next payment — it doesn't refund payments already made, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. There is no lock-in contract and no exit fee.
Memberships paid for by a tutor or school
Where an Educator Partner, tutor or school pays for a membership under an invoiced arrangement, that arrangement is governed by its own invoice terms rather than by this policy, and the 30-day promise does not apply to it. The Request refund button does not appear on a membership you are not paying for, including invited and free access. Anything owing under one of those arrangements is settled directly with the party who paid.
Before you raise a chargeback
Please use the Request refund button first. A refund from us is faster than a chargeback, and if something has gone wrong we would rather fix it than have you fight your bank about it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version that applies to you is the one published when you made the payment in question.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
The 30-day promise above is something we offer voluntarily. It is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in this policy limits or replaces them.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If there is a major failure, you are entitled to cancel and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure is not major, you are entitled to have the problem put right within a reasonable time, and if that isn't done, to cancel and obtain a refund.
These rights apply whether or not the 30 days have passed, and whether or not you have had a refund from us before. They are separate from the 30-day promise, so they are not limited to the Request refund button: if you believe you have a claim under the Australian Consumer Law, contact us at hello@writepatheducation.com and we will deal with it directly.
